Frequently asked questions.
Do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I can also provide the paperwork you need to submit for out-of-network reimbursement with your insurance company. Click here for more information about out-of-network reimbursement.
What should I expect?
Prior to our first session, I will send you several forms to complete electronically. Please complete these at least a day in advance so that I have plenty of time to review the information - that will allow us to hit the ground running on day 1! The first session will last about 60 minutes, and during that time, I’ll learn more about your concerns and goals, gather details about your background, and answer any questions you have. From there, I’ll develop a treatment plan (with your input) that will guide our work together. I will periodically ask you to complete questionnaires (usually weekly or biweekly) that will assess your symptoms or other outcomes relevant to your goals. I’ll also check in with you regularly about how things are going so that we can tweak our approach as needed.
How long will therapy last?
The short answer is that it depends. Ultimately, my goal is for you to get to a point where you have learned skills and made changes that make me completely unnecessary! Sometimes clients arrive there in 6-8 sessions, whereas others spend several months or over a year working toward their goals. A common length of time is 16-20 sessions. I’ll give you a recommendation or estimate at the beginning of our work together, and we will revisit that estimate as needed.
